CHRISTMAS WALK EVENTS 2016
 
 
Santa Claus Arrival
Welcome Santa as he makes his grand entrance into the Village on Saturday, December 3rd at 11:30am at Academy Park by Helicopter (weather permitting) provided by Rainbow Air, Inc.   Santa and Buddy the Elf will be escorted by carriage and a beautiful Holiday Float by Deal Realty and J.J. Strassburg Trucking where all the boys and girls will follow him for the special Santa Promenade down Center Street!  
 
Meet Santa
Santa will greet children in the Lewiston Peace Garden near the Historic Frontier House in his special Holiday float following the Santa Promenade down Center St.  Meet Santa and Buddy the Elf both Saturday, December 3rd from noon - 1:30 and 2- 4pm and Sunday December 4th from 1-3pm of the Christmas Walk!   Santa and Buddy the Elf are sponsored by Deal Realty and the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce.  
 
Character Meet and Greets
Enjoy familiar Christmas favorites Frosty, The Grinch, and Rudolph as they promenade up and down Center Street on Saturday and Sunday from 11am  - 3pm, sponsored by the Lewiston Kiwanis Club and Sweet Peach Baby Boutique.  Meet Anna and Olaf at the Frozen Tent on Saturday and Sunday from 1-3 outside at the Grandpaw's Courtyard (402 Center St).
 
Center Street is full of holiday spirit!  The shops will be open both Saturday and Sunday during the Christmas Walk and many will offer special treats, promotions and great shopping sales!  Check your favorite businesses for store hours.
 
Complimentary carriage rides sponsored by Super Market Liquors & Wines, on Saturday from 11:30am - 4pm and Sunday from noon - 3pm.  Drop off and Pick up in front of Northwest Bank, 500 Center Street. 
 
Hennepin Park
Be sure to visit Hennepin Park with special characters Rudolph and Bumble! Stop by the Petting Zoo from Shenandoah Acres, sponsored by Tedesco Construction Services, Inc. on Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th from Noon - 3pm. Saturday will feature a Special Balloon Artist from 12:30 - 4:30 sponsored by Great Lakes Real Estate and It's So Fluffy Cotton Candy spinning fresh cotton candy from noon -4pm with prices ranging from $2 - $4.
 
Send your Letter to Santa
Get your letters written and delivered to Santa, right here in Lewiston!  The red regulation sized mailbox on Center St. will deliver your letter directly to the North Pole!  The mail box is sponsored by and can be found between You & Me Boutique (467 Center St) and The Spicey Pickle (463 Center St.). Any letters addressed to Santa that are placed in the box by December 20th will receive a response before Christmas!  This is not a U.S. Postal Service mail box.  Letters will go to the North Pole only!
 
 
Niagara River Region Gift Certificates
Looking for the perfect gift to give this holiday season?  Give the gift of "local" this year with a Niagara River Region Gift Certificate.  Purchase a gift certificate in any amount and redeem it at over forty businesses! Find the Perfect Christmas Tree
The Boy Scout Troop 855 will once again host their Christmas Tree Sale in Academy Park.  Stop by and pick out the perfect tree! Starting on November 30th, trees will available Monday-Thursday from 4pm-8pm, Friday from 4pm-9pm, Saturday from 9am-9pm, and Sunday 9am-6:30pm. 
 
 
 
Weekend Activities
 
Lewiston Tour of Homes - The Historical Association of Lewiston is pleased to present its 12th Annual Tour of Homes on December 3rd & 4th, 2016. Celebrate in style and see the latest holiday inspired decor. Antique to Chic - 536 Center St. We will be open both Saturday & Sunday during the Christmas Walk with extended hours - 9:30am - 6pm, refreshments, raffle for a Christmas basket and special areas set up for "kid-friendly" gift shopping with "Elves" available to help them find the perfect present.
 
Apple Granny Restaurant - 433 Center Street. Starting at noon we will host the "Elf on the Shelf".  Stop in for a free hot chocolate and enter a free drawing to win your own "Elf on the Shelf" book and elf!  The Elf will read his story every 30 minutes at the top of the hour and half hour both Saturday and Sunday! 
 
Brewed and Bottled Craft Beer Shop - 402 Center Street.  A special keg of Blackbird Cider Works Christmas Hard Cider will be tapped for the weekend.  This limited edition batch of Cider features notes of apple, cinnamon and ginger.  Growler fills will be available.  Locally crafted wooden six pack holders and gift cards will be available to purchase at the shop.  These are the perfect gifts for the beer lover on your list! Age 21 & over.
 
Chelsea Modern Images - 145 N. 4th St. (Red Brick Schoolhouse Upper Level). Join us for a Christmas theme photo mini-session in our studio December 3rd and 4th from 12-4pm.  The sessions will last for 30 minutes and will cost $125.  Participants will receive five edited images and will have an opportunity to order Christmas Cards and other gifts.  Sessions are intended for one immediate family.  Contact Chelsea at Chelsea@chelseamodernimages.com or call 246-1095 for booking information.  Pre-registration is required.
 
Deal Realty - presents Santa and Buddy the Elf in his beautiful holiday float Saturday, December 5th from noon-4pm and Sunday, December 6th from 1-3pm in the Peace Garden near the historic Frontier House.   Don't forget your camera for photo opportunities with Santa and Buddy too!  Join us at the office at 451 Center Street on Saturday from 1-4pm and Sunday 1-3pm for complimentary refreshments, giveaways and a free holiday craft for the children.

Habitat for Humanity - Lewiston Fire Hall #1  145 N. Sixth St.  Stop by the Fire Hall both Saturday and Sunday from noon - 4pm for a make and take gingerbread house!  $5 per house. All proceeds go to benefit Niagara Habitat for Humanity.
 
Lewiston Fire Co. #1 - Fire hall at 145 N. 6th St.  Stop by and buy some delicious chicken chowder starting at noon on Saturday until sold out! Eat in or take out. 
 
Lewiston Museum - 469 Plain Street, 10 am - 5 pm. The Lewiston Museum will feature modern and vintage Christmas decorations and exhibits relating to the history of Lewiston. Lewiston Village Pediatrics - 733 Center St.  Our practice will be welcoming guests from 12:30 - 4:30pm both Saturday and Sunday. Stop by for some hot cocoa and yummy holiday treats!  Activities will include a free children's crafting table where we will be making "sock snowmen".  This activity is most appropriate for children ages preschool and above and will take approximately 15 - 30 minutes to complete.  Nursing moms are welcome to use our private, quiet rooms!  Call 754-7337 for more info.
 
Realty USA - 505 Center Street, 12 noon - 4pm. Our office doors will be open both Saturday and Sunday with light refreshments as well as Artisan tables selling their crafts and artwork on both days! Tickets will be available for a chance to win baskets with proceeds to benefit WNYHeroes. Inc. and the Village of Lewiston Ice Rink.
 
Spiritually Rooted - 402 Center Street. Stop in for specially priced mini psychic readings all weekend for only $20.  We will be open from 10am -6pm on Saturday and Sunday.  Readings will be walk-ins only.  We will also have free spiced cider for all who stop by!
 
St. Paul's Episcopal Church - Corners of N. 4th & Ridge Streets. One stop shopping! St. Paul's will host a craft and vendor show as well as a basket auction both Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 5pm.  Over 25 crafters and vendors selling everything from home décor, fashion & beauty, spices & soup packets, stocking stuffers, soy candles and more!  Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and various desserts and pastries will be sold as well.  The building is handicap accessible and restrooms are available for the Christmas Walk.

Deal Realty - Stop by the Deal Realty office at 451 Center Street Saturday, December 3rd  at 3pm to see Santa judge the Crazy Hat Contest.  Also enjoy complimentary refreshments and giveaways throughout the Christmas Walk at the Deal Realty office!

Great Lakes Real Estate - From 10:30am - 11:30am at Academy Park, Great Lakes Real Estate will be handing out Rudolph Antler Hats and Noses before Santa's arrival, then along Center Street until supplies run out!   Join Jan the Balloon Artist at Hennepin Park as she dazzles children with her balloon creations free of charge from 12:30 - 4:30pm on Saturday!
 
Independent Order of Odd Fellows #307 - Lewiston Opera House, 732 Center St.  The Independent Order of Odd Fellows will be joining the fun at the Lewiston Christmas Walk and will collect new or gently used hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and socks.  Cans of soup with pull tops will also be gratefully accepted.  Please bring your donations to the Opera Hall where Dale Campbell, host of "Toast & Jam" and WJJL's "Just me and the dog" will be adding to the holiday spirit with Christmas songs.  Every donor will receive a Santa's magic dust Christmas Card. 
 
It's So Fluffy Cotton Candy - We will be spinning fresh cotton candy in many delicious, gourmet flavors at Hennepin Park!  Gingerbread, Candy Cane & Chocolate to name a few as well as classics like blue raspberry and pink vanilla!  There will also be our convenient Fluff Cups to-go.  Prices range from $2 - $4. Lewiston Choraleers - The Lewiston Choraleers will present its annual Christmas music program Saturday, December 3rd, at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY. Village of Lewiston Recreation Dept. - 145 N. 4th St (Red Brick Schoolhouse).  On December 3 from 10am - Breakfast with Santa before he flies into the Village.  Bring your children to enjoy breakfast with the "man in the red suit." Children will get to share their Christmas list with Santa. The donation for the breakfast is $5.00 per child. Coffee and tea will be available for the parents. Seating is limited. Also at the Red Brick Schoolhouse on Saturday from 1­3pm - Holiday Arts & Crafts ­ As part of the Christmas Walk activities, children are encouraged to attend the Holiday Arts and Crafts to paint ornaments, make gifts, make a holiday decoration or just have fun creating things. Children over 4 can visit anytime during this time period. Since paint is used for some of the crafts, a smock or old t­shirt is suggested. Preregistration is not necessary. Canterbury Place - 547 Center St. On Sunday December 4th from 11am - 3pm. Stonewall Kitchen Jam Tour. A company representative will be on hand with tastings, free samples and coupons of Stonewall Kitchen jams and sauces.
 
Lewiston Event Center - 845 Cayuga St. Join the event center from noon - 2pm on Sunday for a special bowling with the jolly man in the red suit! Cost is $10 per child and includes bowling, shoe rental, slice of pizza, soft drink, and a gift from the jolly man in the red suit!

Weekends through December 23rd will feature Santa Claus inside the Culinary Institute's life size gingerbread house.  Take part in activities such as cookie decorating for children, holiday crafts, letters to Santa, story reading, chef demos and more.  In addition, there will be live entertainment, face painting, music and magicians everywhere you look! Our Lady of Fatima Shrine Festival of Lights - 1023 Swann Road, Lewiston. Village of Lewiston Recreation Department - 145 N. 4th St (Red Brick Schoolhouse). December 1st  Thursday 6:30pm - Cookies & Crafts with Santa ­ Children are invited to attend a cookie social with the "man in the red suit." Along with the cookies there will be crafts and children will have the opportunity to tell Santa what is on their holiday list. The cost for each child will be $5.00. Seating is limited to 50 children.
 
December 12 Monday 5PM­6:30pm at the Red Brick Schoolhouse - Holiday Painting & Craft ­ Come and have fun making holiday painting and craft to decorate your house. Ages 5 years and up. Class projects different than December 1 and December 3 crafts. Free.
 
Village of Youngstown Christmas Celebration - Saturday, December 10th. Enjoy events at the Village Center (Red Brick Schoolhouse) and throughout the Village from 10am - 4pm.  Christmas Tree lighting at dusk.  Village retailers will be celebrating the holiday along with free Carriage rides, strolling costumed characters and live music throughout the day!
