Live Music, Fireworks And More At Summerfest Labor Day Event
YOUNGSTOWN, NY - The annual Porter on the Lake Summerfest will be held on Labor Day, September 5th from 3pm - 9pm at Porter on the Lake Park (located at Dietz Rd. off of Lake Rd. Rt. 18). The family fun event will feature food, vendors, beer/wine as well as live music by Carl Filbert & Bob Volkman and Pirate Dreams (Jimmy Buffet tribute band). Pony rides, petting zoo, and face painting will be offered to children at no cost from 3pm - 6pm. The evening will conclude with fireworks from Skylighters of New York, LLC, over Lake Ontario at dusk. Attendees are encouraged to attend the Village of Youngstown Labor Day Parade at noon.
Event Chairs Larry (Town of Porter Councilman) and Linda White and Jeff (Town of Porter Councilman) and Gloria Baker work with local volunteers to make the event a success. All proceeds will go towards projects to improve Porter on the Lake Park. The event will be held rain or shine. Admission is $5 per adult with children 12 and under, free. Lake and beach access to Lake Ontario from Dietz Road will be closed to the public on Monday, September 5th due preparations for the Fireworks Display. Tickets are available at the event and also pre-sale at: Anchor Spirits, The Dory, Melloni's Market Place, Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce and First Niagara Bank (Lewiston Branch). Food vendors include: Casa Antica, Billy's Beef, The Great Foodini, JD Enterprises (Nuts and Snack Items) and Melloni's Catering.
