Lewiston Lions Club Recycle for Sight, Changing Lives One Pair at a Timeby jpauly
The Lewiston Community Lions are proud to announce that, due to the efforts of Lions John (Bud) Snell and John Tourbin, club Chairmen for the "Lions Recycle for Sight" program, the club has collected and donated over 700 prescription eye glasses and over 400 eye glass cases this year alone.
"If you are like most of us, you have tossed your old outdated glasses in a drawer just in case something happens to the new ones, where they stay", said Lion Bud, "but by donating them, that same pair of glasses can change another person's life."
For almost 100 years Lions Clubs have provided resources for individuals who are blind or have vision loss worldwide. Collected glasses are delivered to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers where they are sorted by prescription strength and cleaned.
Want to help? Drop off your regular prescription eye glasses, as well as prescription sunglasses, at any of our donation boxes located in Lewiston at TOPS MARKET, GARY OPTICAL-Kevin D. Komm OD, and LEWISTON EYECARE- Dr Hargrave.
The "Lions Recycle for Sight" is just one of many projects the Lewiston Community Lions participates in to help our community, and abroad.
