When a member has questions regarding ribbon cuttings and if they should have one, our answer is always yes! The Chamber will help guide the member on what might work for their type of business. Some members just want a photo opportunity, others would like to make it an event where friends and family come and celebrate. We have had businesses hold small receptions with light hors d'oeuvres, to full parties to remember the day.
The Chamber uses our network to let the membership and community/elected leaders know about your scheduled ribbon cutting. We help you organize a time for the cutting and encourage our contacts to attend and share the information regarding your celebration. Ribbon cuttings are announced in our newsletter two weeks prior to the date set, as well as a photo included in the week following.
We also provide the ribbon, big official scissors, take an official photo/ video and guide the welcoming and introductions before cutting the ribbon. Local media is invited, however we do not guarantee their presence or elected leader presence. Our board of directors and business/community leaders enjoy attending ribbon cuttings and we do our best to put the word out there so people attend. Word of mouth is often the best marketing tool when you get the right people at your place of business!
As a benefit of chamber membership, the staff will make the ribbon cutting a professional event and is here to help you make the most out of it. The positive impact a ribbon cutting has is priceless and will be something you can remember for years to come.
