Should I call an ambulance if I suspect that I have COVID? The answer is No.
If you think you may have COVID and are experiencing qualifying symptoms, it’s best that you call your Doctor/Health Care professional or the COVID hotline from home. They will pre-screen you over the phone and give you directions on further testing and how to do it. This will most likely not be by ambulance.
Ambulances and 911 are resources that should be utilized for medical emergencies which may be associated with COVID but for the majority of the population are not.
That being said, the volunteers of Lewiston Fire Company No. 1 remain dedicated in service to their community and ready to respond at a moments notice. We are taking extra precautions to ensure their safety during this time and we need your help!
