Niagara River Region Scarecrow Display and Contest

October 1 - 31, 2010

From October 1st through the 31st, view artistic interpretations of Scarecrows as they welcome and enchant visitors along the main streets of our four quaint communities. Here’s where you can find them:

Along Center Street in Lewiston
Along Main Street in Youngstown
Along Rt.93 Near Ransomville Road
Along Buffalo Street in Sanborn

In addition to scarecrow gazing, you can stop a one of our roadside produce stands or pick your own, star-gaze in the orchards from the back of a hay wagon, treasure hunt in our antique stores, hide out in a corn maze, visit haunted historic castle, tour a winery, take away homemade treats from a church bizarre. What ever you decide, you’re sure to “fall for the river region”.

Create a Scarecrow worth crowing about!

Promote your business, organization and community in the 2010 Niagara River Region Scarecrow Display. Artistic interpretations of Scarecrows line the main streets of Lewiston , Sanborn, Ransomville and Youngstown from October 1 st through the 31 st. Eligible applicants include a) private business owners/staff, b) community and civic organizations, c) not for profit agencies and d) residents of the four participating communities.

Judging will take place the week of October 11 th through the 15 th and is based on creativity, originality and quality of workmanship. Prizes include First, Second and Third place in each community (based on the minimum of ten entrants) and one overall “Best in Show” prize. The entry fee is $35 and entry forms, rules and procedures are available below.
